Agarwood is a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia. At a height of twenty metres, it often grows in forested areas and produces a resin that has an intense smell when it comes in contact with heat. Having pale yellow flowers, this plant is distinguished by dark green leaves and a waxy coating called the “cuticle” that has a slightly white appearance.

 

Agarwood essential oil is well-known for its soothing properties. When diffused in a room, it softens the atmosphere and relieves all forms of stress with the pleasant fragrance it exudes. It also repels insect pests and prevents them from coming into the room. While purifying the air, it neutralises the smell of tobacco and cigarettes.

 

Agarwood is used in pharma industry in linaments and other apllication. In areas where mosquitoes are a problem, it can be diluted with sweet almond oil and then lightly rubbed onto exposed skin. It will prevent bites, and the body will remain warm from the heat it provides.

 

In cosmetics, it is also effective in soothing an itchy and irritated scalp caused by dandruff. When it is added to shampoo, this oil acts as a natural fungicide agent. In this way, it nourishes hair fibres and guarantees healthy-looking hair.

 

In ayurvedic apllication, agarwood essential oil can be used in massage along the spine. When used this way, it helps improve the quality of sleep. When applied in the solar plexus area, it stimulates concentration and promotes the elimination of stress instantly.
